What is the "Controversy" in the Missouri Baptist Convention All About?

This is a presentation given by Roger Moran, research director for the Missouri Baptist Laymen's Association and coordinator for Project 1000, at Bethel Baptist Church in Independence, MO on September 25, 2000.

Who is most "dangerous?" -The person like Kirby Godsey, who is honest about his beliefs - openly arguing that "Jesus is not God," that "Jesus didn't have to die," discounts the virgin birth as "unimportant" and rejects repentance and "accepting Jesus" as "the basis of salvation," or the person who says, "I believe just like you, but I really don't have a problem with a man like Dr. Godsey serving as president of a Baptist State University."
